| The "Trade Fair" to be held in Jamaica |

The economy and trade cooperation between China and the Caribbean region has obtained considerable achievements in recent years. According to the Chinese Customs statistics, the trade volume between China and the Caribbean reached US$1.4 billion in 2003 (an increase of 30.14%) and US$ 898 million in the first half of 2004 (an increase of 39.44%). With the development of the trade cooperation between China and the Caribbean region, the proportion of the mechanical and electronic products and hi-tech products in the bilateral trade has increased progressively.
In order to keep the sound momentum of the economic and trade cooperation between China and the Caribbean, governments of China and Jamaica decide to hold the first session of "China-Caribbean Economic and Trade Cooperation Forum" in Kingston, Jamaica in February, 2005. Supportive events such as "China-Caribbean Business Conference and Business Networking" and "Trade Fair" will also be held to promote the Forum.
The "Trade Fair" will exhibit commodities of China and the Caribbean. In the central exhibition hall, the display will be divided into: the achievement of China's reform, opening-up and economic development, the situation of economic development zones of China, the bilateral relations and economic and trade cooperation between China and Latin America as well as Caribbean region, the key projects of China's contracted projects and labor cooperation in Latin America and the Caribbean. Beside the central exhibition hall, there will also be hi-tech products exhibition, household appliances, machinery and electronic products exhibition, light industry exhibition, tourism cooperation exhibition as well as agriculture and primary products exhibition.
On the Occassion, competitive Chinese enterprises from different fields will participate in the Trade Fair and exhibit their products to friends in the Caribbean.
