Suriname governmental delegation to attend “the China-Caribbean Economic and Trade Cooperation Forum” has been finalized. The delegation will be composed of 6 members including Mr. Michael Jong Tjien Fa, Minister of Trade and Industry and Mr. Frederik Boekstaaf, Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
On November 18, the Ministry of Trade and Industry held a preparation meeting for the business people who are going to the Forum. Minister Michael Jong Tjien Fa said in the meeting that “China-Caribbean Economic and Trade Cooperation Forum” would be a good opportunity for Suriname businesses to strengthen their cooperation with China. Suriname is interested in cooperating with China in such areas as power generation, agriculture, and free trade and export processing zone. Leaders of Suriname Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KKF), Suriname Trade and Industry Association (VSB), and Suriname Manufacturers Association (ASFA), as well as Commercial Counselor Hu Ming of the Chinese Embassy in Suriname were present at the meeting.
Currently, Suriname business circle is very enthusiastic in attending the Forum, the Business Conference and the Trade Fair. It is expected that the Suriname Business Delegation will be formed up prior to December 1.
