With a mission to advance trade and economic interaction and cooperation between China and the Caribbean region for common development, the China-Caribbean Economic and Trade Cooperation Forum is held alternately in China and a Caribbean country every four years or so. China and Caribbean countries are the members of the forum which is themed on economic cooperation and development.
To further promote China-Caribbean exchanges and cooperation in trade, investment, agriculture and fishery, tourism and transportation, finance and human resource development, the 2nd China-Caribbean Economic and Trade Cooperation Forum will take place on September 7-8, 2007 in Xiamen, China.
Themed upon “deepening trade and economic cooperation, realizing common development”, the Forum will feature a series of activities, including an opening ceremony, a plenary conference, two breakout seminars on cooperation in agriculture and fishery and in tourism, Caribbean Day, Photographic exhibition on Caribbean investment climate and China-Caribbean Trade and Economic Cooperation, and 2nd China-Caribbean Business Conference and 2nd Annual Meeting of the China-Caribbean Joint Business Council. It will provide an excellent venue for Chinese and Caribbean government officials, entrepreneurs and representatives of regional organizations to discuss and lay out a roadmap for future cooperation and development.
The forum is to be attended by high level officials, trade and investment promotion agencies and businesses as well as representatives from regional organizations. They are also invited to participate in major activities of the concurrent 11th China International Fair for Investment and Trade.
