The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the People’s Republic of China, as a functional department of the state in charge of foreign affairs, shall carry out the entire diplomatic principles and diplomatic policies to different countries of the state consistently and thoroughly, maintain the nation’s supreme interest, represent the state and the government to deal with bilateral and multilateral diplomatic affairs and the diplomatic affairs of Hong Kong and Macao Special Administrative Regions, and lead the work of Chinese missions to international organization and representative offices abroad and of the offices of the commissioners of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in the Hong Kong and Macao Special Administrative Regions.
